A black aura of charisma.
"Once you experience Lily, other music just sounds like noise," one fan said. Lily Chou-Chou is a popular artist among young people these days. Fans who have been drawn into her unique world have recently been experiencing a series of ominous incidents.
On December 8th, fans at Shibuya Quatre, where Lily Chou-Chou's concert was being held, fell into a domino effect, and Shusuke Hoshino (15 years old), a second-year student at Nagano City First Nagano Junior High School in Nagano Prefecture, died. Stabbing marks were found on his back, and Shibuya Police Station began investigating the case as a murder. In July, a passionate fan of hers attempted suicide in protest of the quality of her new album. In her suicide note, she left behind the enigmatic words, "Ether, Ether, Ether. Lily tainted by the media."
"Ether" is used as a synonym for "aura" among Lily fans. It is a word that Lily Chou-Chou herself frequently uses during interviews with several music magazines. Immediately after her suicide, a member of staff broke into Lily's house and attempted to assault her. Then came the murder. Fans and staff members who were captivated by her unique aura sometimes committed suicide, went crazy, and killed people. It's a story reminiscent of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, but what kind of magic is hidden in such a charismatic voice?
